Rezar durante la Cuaresma

Son muchos los miembros del Pueblo de Dios, que saben que la oración es un elemento importante de su vida, sobre todo en este tiempo de Cuaresma. Lo conveniente es saber alimentar esa oración, sea personal, sea comunitaria, en la fuente adecuada.
Como en todo tiempo litúrgico, y sobre todo en los tiempos considerados fuertes, la Iglesia nos propone textos de la Palabra que nos ayuden a reflexionar, a rezar, a comunicarnos con el Señor. La Cuaresma, en ese sentido esta iluminada por textos de una gran riqueza espiritual que no podemos dejar de lado.
Hay quienes buscan libros sobre Cuaresma, y no está mal, pero sería más enriquecedor y provechoso acercarse a los textos de la Palabra que la Iglesia nos presenta cada día. Hay personas que no se atreven o no intentan meterse en los textos del Antiguo Testamento, muy presentes en este tiempo. Y justamente suelen ser textos de los Profetas que hablan concretamente de la vida de los creyentes, y plantean realidades que todos conocemos y vivimos. Ningún texto de la Palabra, así sea el Evangelio, que nos puede resultar más familiar, puede ser leído una vez y captado en su totalidad. La Palabra hay que leerla, “rumiarla” como dicen los maestros espirituales, varias veces para dejarnos impregnar por ella, y descubriremos frases o palabras que nos llamen la atención, con las cuales podremos rezar.
Seguramente con el tiempo, y la ayuda del Espíritu Santo, habremos empezado a descubrir cosas nuevas y así celebrar la Pascua, será una verdadera renovación.
También en Cuaresma, la Iglesia nos convoca a momentos de oración comunitaria, como actos penitenciales, el rezo del Camino de la Cruz o Via Crucis, momentos de encuentro, retiros, etc. Son devociones propias de nuestra tradición, algunas son comunes a muchos países, hay otras que han surgido como algo propio de un lugar, de una parroquia determinada.
Lo importante es que esas devociones no se hayan transformado en costumbre social, en obligación, “algo que hay que hacer”. Una devoción nunca puede ser algo impuesto, debe ser algo que brote de lo más profundo del corazón de cada persona y la ponga en contacto con el Señor, alimentando la comunión, la relación que El quiere tener con cada uno de nosotros.
Esas devociones, para ser auténticas deben inspirarse también en la Palabra de Dios, de acuerdo a lo que pide la Iglesia. A veces se originaron en épocas donde esa Palabra no era cercana a los creyentes, por eso lo correcto será revisarlas, y considerar también, si las reflexiones, las oraciones expresan al hombre de hoy y sus necesidades. En este tiempo de Cuaresma, ver si las devociones realmente se centran en el misterio Pascual y en sus aspectos fundamentales, la muerte y la resurrección del Señor, ya que ninguno de los dos puede dejar de estar presente, la Salvación es fruto de esos dos momentos que vivió Jesucristo. La muerte sin resurrección no tiene sentido, y la resurrección sin muerte no existió.
Aprovechemos esta Cuaresma para renovarnos a través de la oración a nivel personal y colaborar también en nuestra comunidad para que otros hermanos puedan enriquecerse.
